Target Audience: Women aged 70+ across six districts in North Trent
North Trent Cancer Network ran a public awareness-raising campaign around breast cancer and its symptoms. NTCN decided to supplement their mainstream campaign with a community outreach programme, to extend the reach of its message to this particular target audience.
We focused in highly targeted areas where there were higher incidences of breast cancer and lower early reporting rates.
3,355 women were engaged through community group activities, and a further 675 one-to-one conversations were held with women who did not attend groups.
Despite the sensitive nature of the topic, the key messages were extremely well received and more importantly, welcomed.
